Smith Schafer Continues Tradition of Strong Client Relationships
Firm Appoints Managing Principal
Smith Schafer continues a tradition of strong and loyal client relationships as it names a new Managing Principal. Steve Erchul, Principal in Smith Schafer’s Edina office, assumed firm administrative duties as the new Managing Principal, effective October 1, 2013. The change is internal to the firm, with staffing and client service continuing as usual at all four offices in Rochester, Edina, Maplewood and Red Wing. Mr. Erchul will oversee such duties as firm personnel, recruitment and talent development decisions as well as client service standards, marketing and growth initiatives.
Alan L. Schafer has held the Managing Principal role for the past 25 years while also serving a growing roster of clients. He joined the Rochester practice in 1976. Mr. Schafer will continue to contribute to leadership decisions at the firm as well as his trusted advisory role with Smith Schafer clients and referrals. He is looking forward to maintaining and building new connections for the firm.
The decision to name a new Managing Principal is largely based on timing. “This is a very intentional change discussed among the principals over the past year or so,” Mr. Schafer said. “We have already shifted some management duties to Steve as part of our goal at Smith Schafer to invest in the next generation of leaders at the firm. My clients know I’m still here for them as I’ve always been.”
Leaders and staff at Smith Schafer anticipate great results internally and externally as these valued partners continue to lend their knowledge and experience to client and firm goals.
“I look forward to working on strategies that will make our firm and clients more successful in the years ahead,” Mr. Erchul added.
